Now I know that normally speaking I wouldn't review, mention or even consider seeing a covers band but for A.K.A. I can make an exception, you see going to see A.K.A. is rather like turning on your digital radio and skimming through the channels before settling down to listen to Classic Rock instead of checking out that new band on 6 Music. Every once in a whilst you need to go and see a band where you can join a mass sing-a-long, jump and down and pound your fist in the air. A.K.A. play rock classics with all the attitude and the style of the original artists. The band rip through the likes of Love In An Elevator, Jump, One Vision, Teenage Kicks, You Give Love A Bad Name and even sit down by James and you can't help singing along to each and every one of them.

The five-piece band are all about having a good time and you can tell by their performance that they're enjoying playing the songs as much as the audience is enjoying shouting along. A.K.A. help you remember why you first got into rock music in the first place.

We caught A.K.A. on New Years Eve in their home town and so I suppose it's not difficult to understand why their was something of a party atmosphere but saying that I'm pretty convinced on this evidence that A.K.A. could kick start a party anywhere at anytime. Just once in a whilst it's good to go and see a band that are all about having fun and delivering the songs that the crowd really want to hear and A.K.A. are that band.
